Theoretical awareness and practical experience is given in preparation for sea survival in the event of abandonment. Use of flares, life jackets and life rafts and other survival equipment is demonstrated and discussed during the lecture phase. A wet drill in the pool, where you get the chance to put into practice the theory from the morning, follows. Use of life raft, lifejackets and other rescue devices are used so that you can experience the difficulties and practice the techniques used to help you survive.
Principles of raft management, drowning and near drowning, hypothermia, communications etc are areas covered during this course.
