Water Safety
This one-day course has been designed to meet the needs of people who work on or near Irelands inland waterways system. Our aim is to highlight the dangers involved in these high-risk areas. The courses are conducted nationwide.
Topics include:
- The Health, Safety & Welfare at Work Acts.
- Lifejackets and Flotation Aids.
- Rescue and treatment of persons taken from the water.
- Awareness of hypothermia.
- Lifebuoys & Lifelines.
Theory is then put into practice in a pool session using safety equipment including lifejackets.
Video material includes:
“Survival Equipment & Maintenance”, “Cold Water Survival” and “Helicopter Rescue”
A certificate is issued on successful completion of the course.
